Dress Code 2009-2010

School wide standards on student attire are intended to help students concentrate on school work, reduce discipline problems and improve school order.  The Board has approved the following dress code for all NCS students:

NCS uniforms consist of Khaki, navy, (or shades of brown or blue) or denim pants or jeans, skirts or skorts and any color blouse, dress, or shirt without designs (the exception would be manufactured logos like Polo, Abercrombie, College teams etc.)
or an official NCS shirt.

Students are encouraged to wear NCS shirts especially on Friday to show school spirit.  Throughout the year NCS will have special attire days such as field trips whereby everyone may wear different outfits appropriate to the occasion.

Baggie pants, sagging pants, bare midriffs, tank-tops, spaghetti straps and see-through shirts are not permitted.  Hats and sunglasses may not be worn in the building.  Shorts are permitted but must be mid-thigh in length.  The Dress Code will be enforced and non-compliance will result in a parent/guardian contact and the student will be excluded from school activities until acceptable clothing is provided.

Any student deemed in violation of the dress code shall be required to change into appropriate clothing or make arrangements to have appropriate clothing brought to school immediately.  In this case, there shall be no further penalty.  If it continues to be a problem, then the student may be subject to other disciplinary action as outlined in the school discipline policy.
